Each year children around the world wake up to presents around the tree delivered by none other than Santa Claus himself.
Yet despite the mounting evidence, there are still many who continue to deny Santa’s existence. This is the most outrageous claim I’ve ever heard, so I decided to use as much of the exam week as possible to investigate myself.
I began by reading through the theories of doubters. One of the most popular theories I found is that it’s parents who deliver presents all in one night. This is the most ridiculous claim I’ve ever heard. First of all, how could parents do that in one single night? They simply wouldn’t be able to do such a thing in such a short time. Secondly, how could parents make toys without elves? The logic of this theory just doesn’t add up.
Another theory I found is that Santa was a real man who died, and the current Santa is just a metaphor for the Christmas spirit. Whoever made this theory needs to try way harder than that. It’s truly absurd to think that a magical being like Santa could have died. The jolly old fellow who travels the world in a single night died? I think we can all agree that this is a very laughable theory.
After I was able to debunk these outrageous theories, I decided to investigate encounters people have had. I was able to find a student at Grand Junction High School who was willing to share their story with me. For the students’ own safety, they requested to stay anonymous.
“When I was 10 years old I saw Santa standing in my living room, so naturally I went to say ‘hello.’ Santa wasn’t happy, though, and told me to never tell anyone about this encounter,” said the anonymous GJHS student.
At this point in my investigation, I seriously don’t know how anyone could possibly believe the conspiracy that Santa is fake. However, I wanted one last solid piece of evidence. So I reached out to Santa for an interview. He agreed to answer one question, so I asked for his thoughts on people claiming he isn’t real.
“It’s truly absurd how anyone can believe this. I work so hard all year to deliver gifts, and my appreciation is people claiming I’m fake. Let’s just say there are going to be quite a few people on the naughty list,” said Santa Claus.
Based on my findings, hopefully we can finally put an end to the conspiracy theorists once and for all.
