Holiday Extravaganza Concert
Last Thursday night through Saturday night the GJHS choirs performed their 22nd annual Holiday Extravaganza Concert at the Church of the Nazarene. It is the main fundraiser for the choir programs of the year.
From the beautiful, classic, Ave Maria sung by the chamber choir to a hysterical rendition of ‘Let it Go’ performed by the men’s choir, the extravaganza was truly an event to remember.
“I am a little nervous that we will mess up and make the mistakes we made during practices and the dress rehearsal,” Brynne Berry, member of the Advanced Women’s choir, said before the event. Although she was nervous, Berry said that the performance went extremely well, though there are always things to improve on.
Kobey LaDuke, senior and member of the mixed choir said that he also thought the concert went well. Both agreed that they should have been more boisterous and passionate in the performances on Saturday.
Not only did the students put in a lot of effort into the event, parents and NHS members decorated, made and brought desserts, and served drinks before it started and during intermission.
