Bowling Club

Clubs are supposed to be a time of socializing and having fun, and that is exactly what bowling club involves. Bowling club meets every Monday for practice and every Thursday for tournaments. Just like most clubs, bowling club has a fee of 80 dollars. If you are interested in joining you can talk to Mr. Fox or Ms. Hillegas.

All the high schools have their practices and tournaments at Orchard Mesa Lanes bowling alley. If it is a just a practice, they can either bowl on their own, bowl with other teammates, or bowl with the other schools.

“For the first couple of weeks we just have practice to get an average. Then we use that average to determine what spot you are on, on the line up,” Mr. Fox, teacher at GJHS, said.

With the couple of weeks practice they have, they then go and play the other high schools around the valley such as, Central, Palisade, and Fruita. When they do play in the tournaments, it is all team play, but based on your individual score each tournament you could go onto to state to play high schoolers on the eastern slope.

The bowling season lasts for about nine weeks, the practices begin earlier so students can hone their skills before the tournaments begin.

Benefits of being in this club include receiving a letter, making new friends, learning more about bowling.

Bowling Club is a club where you can make more friends, improve your skill on bowling, and you can determine if you like bowling or not.
