The schedule for finals week, May 19 to May 20, differs from the normal schedule.

The days of finals are block schedules: odd periods on Tuesday, and even periods on Wednesday. Classes on those days are still 85 minutes, but leave an optional study time from 2:30 to 3:15. Passing periods on both days will be extended from five to ten minutes for students who need the extra time to turn in any assignments that they need or to talk with a teacher.

“They do it because we want to give you guys extra time to prepare in between finals,” said GJHS English teacher Steve Brown.

The schedule is the same as it has been for the past 20 years, according to Brown. He stated that this is in place because it helps students to have a little break between classes.
