The GJHS jazz bands will be performing in early May at Spring Swing.
The event will take place on May 8 from 7-9 p.m. on the outdoor GJHS patio at the front of the school. Entry is free, and on top of having live music and dancing, there will be other features such as food trucks and free desserts.
“My favorite part is the celebration aspect of a really good school year, and getting to send the seniors off in a really fun way… The community’s involved, and it’s a great way to end the school year,” said GJHS band director Isaac Lavadie.
All three jazz bands from GJHS will be performing music they have been preparing since the start of the school year. Each jazz band has around 45 minutes worth of music to play at the event.
“I think it’s really fun to get together with not just the whole band department, but the whole performing arts department, they’re all there. You can just dance with friends, and hang out, and play good music, and just have fun,” said Jazz I member and GJHS junior Taylor Dean.
