The Grand Junction High School Theatre program is putting together a musical this spring.

The musical is called Treasure Island. The students have been putting in a lot of hard work for these past few months, and are excited to present it.

“I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in the crowd, and hanging out with people on stage, and having everything come to life. Expect a lot of action and a really good story,” said senior JoHanna LaDuke.

The teachers who are helping with the musical too, are putting in a lot of effort. Audrey Neumiller, theater director, and Brad Hirsh, choral director are the main teachers who are helping with this musical. Max Riley the school accompanist, and Hirsh have written all of the music heard in the show.

“I have been here for 8 going on 9 years. This is my eighth [musical]. 2 musicals with the former theater teacher, and then I’ve done 6 with Ms. Neumiller. It’s been great,” said Hirsh.

Treasure Island will be put on March 3, 4, 10, 11 at 7pm, with matinees on the 4th and 11th at 1pm.
