Winter Sports Preview
As winter rapidly approaches, new sports are sweeping in. Boys’ basketball just kicked off their season last weekend with their first tournament.
“Our varsity team from last year graduated, so these boys never got a lot of playing time. This is their first time being on the court full time. We have seven seniors, they never competed at the varsity level before, based on the tournament it’s hard to predict what kind of a season we will have. But we are working on defense and offense, the boys are working hard.” Coach Madison said.
Wrestling took the mat last weekend as well at CMU, “varsity did really good, we all work as hard as we can as a whole team. At practices we wrestle just as hard as we do in tournaments. I’m excited for this season,” Mathew Lane, sophomore, said.
Girls’ Swim had their first swim meet last Saturday, “We placed 2nd in the whole meet,” Lizzette Gonzalez, sophomore, said. “So far, our practices are really successful, it’s a lot of hard work that we put in. And the hard work pays off when it matters. So far I love swim and I was looking for something new to try, this was a good decision. I’m excited to see how the rest of the season will go,” Gonzalez said.
All winter sports seem to be exciting, and it’s just the beginning.
