All Academic Team GJHS
The All Academic Team at GJHS is the new 2017 Colorado History Bowl Champions. The team has put in countless hour of training since they first started in July through the end of the school year. The team is coached by Cody Shawcroft, and Casey Smith who are all former members of the GJHS academic team and former State Champions.
“My part on the team is my knowledge for science, and I’m so happy to be on the team making new friends,” Chance Eden, senior, said.
Not only did the team have success, but some of the students for GJHS did as well Noah Schmidt won the Colorado State Champion Spelling Bee, Sean Palmer got the highest qualifying score for the US history in Colorado.
“The State Championship was brutal nine round tournament, but we were able to come out 5a champ, and Governor’s Cup champs as well,” Eden, said.
The team is split into an A and B team. The A team is Josh Foutz, Sean Palmer, Noah Schmidt, Anji Magill, and Matt Chambers. The B team is Kordale Bavor, RD Claire, and Chance Eden. The A team competes in most of the nine rounds, but the B team did get some time as they finished the last 2 rounds and finished off the tournament.
“We play as a team, and combined our Knowledgeable mass,” Eden said.
GJHS is very proud to have the 5a Colorado History Bowl Champions. These guys put in so much work, and as you can see it has paid off in a big way.
