Spring Break is Here Again
Every year a few of the GJHS teachers host a spring trip somewhere outside of the United States. This year Mrs. Casey, Ms. Read and Mr. Whiteford put on a trip to go to the United Kingdom for the 2017 spring break.
They will be staying in England for one whole week and will visit a ton of places that we obviously don’t have here in the U.S.
They will be going to London, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Edinburgh, and Stone Hedges.
When they do go to London they will visit Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Piccadilly Circus, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey all within one day. They will be very busy everyday with non-stop adventure and fun.
“I am excited to go to Stratford-Upon- Avon because I am in the drama department and I love Shakespeare’s work. I am also excited to go see all the castles because I love the historical architecture there,” Elisabeth Larson, sophomore, said.
Once they have finished with their events for the day, they will have the rest of the day to them selves and go do whatever they want but still will have a curfew that allows them to still stay out late.
Upon going on the trip the student him or herself have to pay a decent amount of money in order to go on the trip. Most students start saving or raising money at least one to two years before the trip.
“I have been planning for this trip since my freshman year when I first heard about the trip,” Larson said.
Going on these school spring break trips are fun since you get to go to country you have always been wanting to go to and you also get to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Since this trip is held by Educational Tours, you also get to learn more about the country itself and its history.
