If you’re worried about missing out on a glamorous spring break getaway, don’t be.
There are so many activities to do right here in Grand Junction, it’s hard to get bored. Here is a list of GJ activities:
- Movies- If you’re a cinema fan, then you will likely be extremely disappointed with the current options. However, with the magic of streaming services, your spring break movie and TV binging might just be saved. Some good options right now are Venom: The Last Dance (2024), Sonic The Hedgehog 3 (2024), and Surviving Black Hawk Down (2025).
- Bananas- The week of Spring Break, Bananas is open every day of the week. Keep in mind that their hours are subject to change. The Limited Pass is $31.50 and the Unlimited Pass is $40.00.
- Hiking- If you feel like doing something a little more active, then you’re in luck because we’re in Grand Junction. There are many trails around the valley that will bring hours of fun (or pain). As of now, it’s forecasted to be pretty nice, so make sure to plan at least a few hikes.
- Sports- If you are tired of being inside, there are countless activities in Grand Junction to get you more active. Be prepared to come home sore after these:
- Canyonlands Half Marathon on March 15th
- Drop-In Sports on March 16th, 18th, and 23rd from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Bookcliff Activity Center for all ages.
- Saint Patty’s Day 5k Run/Walk on March 15, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. It is $35 per person, kids 12 and under run free. You can bring pets.
- Video Games- If you’re more of a video game person, there are a lot of games for you to try this break. My personal picks would be The Finals and Spectre Divide, as they are free and don’t require an online subscription.
- Skiing/Sledding- Powderhorn Ski Resort is open Monday-Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. A Day for Jake is a free event at Powderhorn on March 15, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. It is a day to remember a pioneer in snowboarding and skiing. My preference, though, would be sledding. Smaller groups and possibly going home with little to no injury sounds amazing.
- Bear Greek Trivia – Go play trivia at Cruise Control Kitchen + Cellar. The game is free, recurring weekly on Sunday.
- Concerts- While no one overly exciting is coming to Grand Junction (except for Soulija Boy in April), there are a few concerts that you might want to see:
- See Perry Malone and Terry Nath at Cavalcade on March 15th, 7:30 PM. It is $10 a ticket
- Alex Paul at Cavalcade on March 22. It is $20 a ticket and starts at 7:30 PM.
- If Metal music is your thing, Mesa Theater has Diced, NVR ENDVR, Born of Execration, and Levi Corpus on March 28 at 7:00 PM. It is $20.79 a ticket.
No matter what your plans are for this spring break, this is the perfect time to hit refresh. Hopefully something on this list keeps you entertained.
