As the school year comes to a close for Grand Junction High School seniors, it’s important to remember some of these dates.
Important dates for seniors to remember are April 25 and 26. On April 25, seniors who have service learning hours for the Millennium Club must turn in a one-page reflection to the main office. This is also the last day to fill out the scholarship acknowledgement form. This form is used to recognize graduating seniors who received scholarships. The form can be found on the senior google classroom.
On April 26, GJHS will be hosting prom. The theme of the dance will be “City of the Stars” and is hosted by GJHS StuCo. The dance will be at Colorado Mesa University’s Ballroom from 7-10 p.m.
In May there are many important events happening for seniors. Seniors should mark their calendars for May 6 and 7. This is when senior checkout sheets will be distributed. The senior’s final exam days are May 7 and 8. Odd period exams will be on May 7 and evens on May 8. May 8 is also senior award night, this will be held in the auditorium starting at 6 p.m.
On May 9, seniors will be able to pick up their caps and gowns and must bring their senior checkout sheet. Following the handouts of caps and gowns, Baccalaureate practice will be from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. At 12:30 p.m. yearbooks will be distributed and the senior picnic will start as well and be held on the grass by the GJHS sign. The last event on this day will be Springfest, which all grades will participate in which will be held inside the GJHS building this year.
Baccalaureate will be on May 11 in the main gym and seniors must arrive at 5:40 p.m. The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. in the auditorium. Graduation practice is planned to be in Stocker Stadium at 1 p.m. This is mandatory for all seniors, and if plans change it will be announced.
The last event for the graduating class of 2025 is graduation. Graduation will be held on May 15 in Stocker Stadium. Seniors must arrive by 5 to be seated and the ceremony will start at 6 p.m.
