A Mesa Valley School District 51 student can win $2,000 and a new laptop in the 2024 Cesar Chavez photo essay.

Participating in it is very easy and simple to do. For the contest you have to use three pictures to demonstrate what your topic is. All photos that are used must be photoshopped. Pictures must not have any profanity, nudity, or any possibly offensive content. The instructions state to craft an introduction paragraph with the required information for guests to understand the pictures, and one paragraph per picture.

The writer must address how Cesar Chavez’s ideas/movement relate to you and your family’s situation. Cesar Chavez was an American labor leader who co-founded the National Farms Worker Association.

Now, one question you might have is “Why would I do this?”
The simple answer is: The winner of the competition gets $2,000 and a laptop computer. There are further benefits other than just getting money and a wicked laptop.

“I think one of the benefits is allowing other people to see your artwork and your vision of yourself,” said GJHS art teacher Sean Henry.

This event will take place on Saturday, March 30, at Las Colonias Amphitheatre.
