FBLA goes to districts

Many students from FBLA placed

FBLA members junior Alex Kirch, junior Jess Strickland, and freshman Gabriel Gonzalez show off their second place medals from the district competition. GJHS students competed in district on January 30th at Colorado Mesa University.

FBLA competed in Districts on Jan. 30th. FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America. A total of 9 GJHS students placed and qualified for State. 

GJHS students that did well at districts then have the opportunity to compete at state. State takes place on April 1st-3rd Denver.

“Everyone that we took did well and they are all going to state,” said FBLA advisor Susan Dunlap.

GJHS students that placed first are sophomore Aidan Innis and senior Taytin Knoblich. Innis competed in Introduction to Business Presentation while Knoblich competed in Personal Finance.

“The best part of my presentation was really developing the solutions to business failure because I really understood the most about it,” said Innis. “Business over all is what I want to go into in the future so having this business knowledge will end up benefiting me.” 

All GJHS students who placed:

1st Place – Introduction to Business Presentation – Aidan Innis

1st Place – Personal Finance – Taytin Knoblich

2nd Place – Banking and Financial Systems Alex Kirch, Walker Strickland and Gabe Gonzalez

2nd Place – Introduction to Event Planning – Brooke Fowler and Camden Schutte

2nd Place – Public Speaking – Madelynn Boyer

2nd Place – Electronic Career Portfolio – Maddy Parkhurst

2nd Place – Insurance and Risk Management – Walker Strickland

3rd Place – Introduction to Business Procedures – Camden Schutte

3rd Place – Introduction to Marketing Concepts – Aidan Innis

4th Place – Economics – Alex Kirch

4th Place – Journalism – Maddy Parkhurst
