After students get their blood drawn, they get a bandage, food, and get sent back to class.

It’s that time of year again when GJHS students donate blood.

Sponsored by Vitalant, Grand Junction High School is hosting its annual blood drive on Wednesday, Feb. 14, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In order to donate blood, students must be at least 16 years old, weigh more than 110 pounds, and will need a signed consent form filled out by a parent or guardian in order to participate in the drive if the student is under the age of 18.

“You can sign up online by scanning the QR code on the posters around the school or go to the table under the big TV during lunch and fill out a consent form,” said GJHS senior and student council representative Miana Carlson.
