Congratulations GJHS Class of 2023!
Graduating class is generously delivered with senior yard signs
Many Grand Junction High School teachers and staff delivered senior yard signs to the class of 2023 graduates.
GJHS received a donation from a local The UPS Store from previous Grand Junction High School student Nick Gumpert as congratulations for the graduating class of 2023. GJHS teachers and staff took time to deliver senior signs individually to students.
All staff from GJHS were allowed to sign up and choose students to give the signs to. When the teachers provided the signs to students, they could knock on the door to congratulate them or put the signs in the front yard.
GJHS graduating senior Nickolet Maas said, “I think the signs getting delivered by a teacher you are close to is an amazing and thoughtful idea.”
Many students felt honored and appreciated when the signs were delivered. Graduating can be challenging for some students, but the signs were a great act of kindness to put a smile on the student’s faces.
“I felt so honored that a teacher would take their time to deliver the sign to me. My first reaction was kinda sad just knowing my senior year is ending, but I love the sign so much it makes me feel special,” said Maas.
The senior signs have been a tradition since COVID started in 2020 because seniors could not finish their year at school. Our school has continued delivering the signs as a fun way to celebrate our graduating seniors.
Your donation will support the student journalists of Grand Junction High School. Your contribution will allow us to purchase equipment and cover our annual website hosting costs.
