Gregg is new GJHS girls tennis coach
Math teacher has many years of experience coaching golf and tennis
The Grand Junction High School girls tennis team got a new coach for the 2023 spring season.
Brandon Gregg was introduced as the new girls tennis coach. Gregg is a math teacher and a boys golf coach at GJHS as well as his new position as the girls tennis coach.
Gregg said, “Tennis is a lot like life, it’s a grind but it’s fun. It’s athletic on the physical side and chess on the mental side.”
Gregg has coached many tennis and golf teams over the years. He has been coaching tennis for the past 20 years and has enjoyed it ever since he was a teenager.
Some ways players described him were ‘fun,’ ‘easy going,’ ‘motivating,’ and ‘kind.
GJHS sophomore Elle DeHerrera said, “He does a really good job at making everything fun. The team bonded really well this year having him as a coach.”
Gregg helped lead the GJHS girls tennis team to regionals with two players qualifying for the state tournament at No. 1 doubles, DeHerrera and her partner Harper King (Palisade).
