Grand Junction played Fruita on May 2nd under the lights at CMU in the first of back-to-back games this week.

The Tigers fell behind 5-0 early but came roaring back to take the lead before losing by a final score of 11-7. The teams play again 6 p.m. Friday, May 5, at Suplizio Field.

“We’re going to come out and compete, and battle every pitch,” said GJ head coach Si Espinoza.

Junction had 12 hits and used three pitchers in the Tuesday game. Senior Cameron Ochoa was the starting pitcher.

Ochoa also hit a home run followed by a home run by GJ teammate and fellow senior Jase Satterfield.

The starting pitcher for the Tigers is yet to be determined for Friday night.
