The Grand Junction High School Knowledge Bowl A team won first place and B team took third in a dominating performance at a recent quiz bowl competition.

The Nov. 5 event was held in Golden at Colorado School of Mines. The event will be shown on PBS channels.

The Academic Team team has had a great last couple of years, with the team winning state last year.

Knowledge bowl is a fun academic trivia tournament that high school students participate in. The in-person knowledge bowl events were mostly on hiatus for the last two years because of COVID-19.

“You learn alot of what you’re not being taught in normal classes and you’re learning more about what you are learning in your classes,” said GJHS senior Athena Quesenberry.

Not only could it boost your education experience in high school but it could also help with getting into collage.

“If you’re a person who cares about college and how your resume looks then maybe this sport is for you,” said GJHS senior Calian McKim.

“I really like being on the academic team. It gives me a community and it’s really fun,” said Quesenberry.
