Lock down
GJHS was lifted from lock down at approximately 1 p.m. after a report of a young male with a gun near the school.
Grand Junction Police Department said there were no shots fired and no active shooter.
Tope Elementary School was also placed in shelter in place.
Students who had not returned from lunch, or were off campus, were sent back off campus.
If parents have come to pick students up, they’re excused for the day. Otherwise, students who do not return will need to work with teachers to make up absences.
