Fires and Friends

The ultimate, fabulous fall guide that is sure to spice up the chilly but spooktacular fall months.

October 9, 2018

September 22nd marked the first day of fall, and if you’re anything like me, you know that Fall is obviously the superior season. If you are someone who has trouble seeing the importance and excellence of this praised season, I am here to convince you as to why you should accept Fall into your life and heart. Here are my top 9 reasons as to why Fall is the best season.

The colors and temperature

If you’re lucky enough to live in Colorado, Fall weather is perfect. It’s not too cold but not too warm. Fall outfits are pulled out of the closet and a light jacket is only needed in the morning and at night. I highly encourage a drive to the mesa, through the monument, or out of town towards Ridgeway. The leaves are changing and if you’re lucky enough to experience the yellow and orange landscape that only lasts a short period of time, you know how beautiful these drives can be. It’s the perfect time to roll down the windows, let in the cool breeze and play your favorite music.

Flannels and sweaters

Flannels and sweaters are the easiest way to look like you tried, while feeling comfy. Perfect for school, at home, or any event. Because the inversion hasn’t set in and there’s no snow on the ground, you don’t have to cover up your outfit with a heavy jacket every time you go out.

Halloween

Halloween is undeniably one of the best holidays. It’s low stress and is one of the lower costs holidays. Along with them comes the great variety of Halloween movies, carving pumpkins, haunted houses, and of course one of the only nights of the year where you can eat as much candy you want without worrying about the calories and tremendous amounts of sugar.

Instagram worthy posts

Need some more Instagram worthy shots? What better way than to pose with your pumpkin spice latte, in the colorful leaves, or in your comfy fall clothing?

Cuff season

This is your best chance to get a significant other. The cold weather is a perfect time to cuddle up next to someone. Halloween movies or horror movies are the best to watch with someone else and the Holiday season doesn’t have to be spent alone with family.

Comfort food and drinks

I believe, Fall season is one of the only times calories don’t count. The amount of pie, Halloween candy (candy corn is the candy of my choice), coffee, chai, mac and cheese and everything else in between.

Scents

Spice cake, mahogany teak-wood, cinnamon, apple, wet leaves, rain, coffee, and pumpkin are just a few of Fall’s most iconic scents that you can’t get away from.

Corn Mazes, pumpkin patches and haunted house

Halloween is one of the only holidays where everything related to it is fun. Haunted houses never fail to entertain even if you are someone who is easily scared. Corn mazes and pumpkin patches are for photo ops and family fun. And of course picking out a pumpkin to decorate for your porch is a family tradition you cannot miss.

Fires and friends

One of my favorite traditions is holding a bonfire Halloween night and handing out candy. Whatever traditions you have, I implore you to try a fire and friends because it really adds to the Fall experience.
