2018 Middle School Tours
Thursday, February 15th, the GJHS performing arts department went on tour to East, West, and Orchard Mesa Middle Schools to show off each of their programs. These tours recruit kids that are just about to start high school.
GJHS choir performed Misty Mountain from “The Lord of the Rings”, and Mr. Sandman. The jazz band performed Don’t worry about a thing, Hey Pacheco, and an Earth, Wind, and, Fire dance mix.
Cal Hanlon lost his instrument. Choir members danced for the crowd while the jazz band played. The band also had Winter Guard tag along to perform at the tour. Orchestra performed a bluegrass song, as well as songs from Moana with some special guests appearing. These guests were none other than Maui and Moana.
These tours showcase each of the musical components of the performing arts programs. These talented people show off not only their instruments or voice, but Grand Junction High School as well.
Mr. Lavadie, the band director, said “It was a tour alright.”
