Dreaming for Success

The girls swim team has been working their butts off trying to get their best times ever. Kelsie Kerr said this about the swim team “the swim team is like our own little family and I love practicing and going to meets,” Kerr, junior, said. This family is striving for their best personal times ever.

The swim team has been working hard this year with a new type of training called race pace training. Everything they do is about racing. This training is a little bit different than what the swim team is use to. With this training,  the swim team either gets first or second in their meets. In districts they got third, but it was only because of their lack of divers.

The swim team is nearing the end of their season, and right now they’re resting up and having fun before state. Coach Janet is hoping for their best times in conference and state.

“We’re there, they worked hard, and now we’re just ready to have fun,” Coach Janet said. The swim team has qualified all three relays for state. Kidd who has qualified all her events says, “we flying high.” Jordan Beam qualified in the 100 back. Sarah Griffin qualifying in the 100 fly. Maddie Caywood is close in the 500’s.

Michael Phelps said “Don’t put a limit on anything. The more you dream, the further you get,” and these girls have big  dreams

The GJHS swim team is coached by Janet Ryan. GJHS would like to thank the coaches, swimmers and fans for their support.
