In Harmony They Sing
The Choir Extravaganza has been a tradition at GJHS for the past 20 years in which each choir performs several Holiday songs.
Though the extent of preparation involved may seem minimal, each choir immediately starts learning material and memorizing songs after their fall concert. Mr. Hirsh, the choir teacher, the choir council, parent volunteers, and even NHS volunteers play a large part in helping the Extravaganza run seamlessly.
To set up for the Extravaganza, the volunteers spend hours putting up decorations, setting up lighting equipment, and moving risers from the school to the church.
The weeks spent getting ready for the Extravaganza did not go unnoticed. Each choir put on a phenomenal performance. It was obvious the students were passionate and worked hard to put on a good show for the audience.
“I think this year has been one of our best. Everyone was prepared and things ran very smoothly” Demi Lyman, junior, said. Their strong work ethic and dedication paid off.
This year’s Extravaganza was filled with talented students in each choir and was headed to success from the beginning.
The Extravaganza consisted of three evening performances and one matinee performance. It was a great way to kick off the holiday season and get people ready for upcoming festivities.
