Kindness is Contagious Week
During the week of 2/13/17-2/17-17, high schools around the Grand Valley including GJHS, will be presenting the 2nd annual, Kindness is Contagious week. This week will be based on stomping out the stigma surrounding Mental Health and will feature multiple events throughout the week, held by student council. On Monday during 3rd hour, a video will be played to explain more about the message of this week. Students will wear green on Wednesday, February 15th to promote mental health awareness.
Kevin Hines will be speaking at Colorado Mesa University on February 20th from 7-9 pm and it is a free event to all. He will be discussing mental health and suicide prevention.
Coffee shops throughout the Grand Valley will be offering a pay it forward deal this week. Buy a coffee for you and someone else in need at any of the participating locations to start a chain reaction of kindness. Main Street Bagels, Octopus Coffee, Aspen Street Coffee and Mission Coffee are all locations to purchase your coffee this week.
On Wednesday, February 15th if you eat at Chipotle, be sure to show them the flyer below to have 50% of your meal proceeds go toward Kindness is Contagious. You get to help others out and enjoy some delicious food.
